Caring With Intention

At Pour Les Femmes, we believe that caring for your garments is just as meaningful as choosing them. Thoughtful care not only preserves the beauty and softness of our fabrics, it also reduces waste, conserves water, and contributes to a more conscious wardrobe.

With a few gentle habits, your Pour Les Femmes pieces can be cherished for years to come.

Cotton Care

Our Cottons and Angel (Multi-Layer Gauze) fabrics are delicate yet durable, designed for breathability and ease.

  • Wash in cold water with a gentle detergent
  • Select a delicate cycle or hand wash
  • Do not bleach
  • Lay flat or hang to air dry
  • Lightly steam to remove wrinkles; avoid high heat. Angel Fabric and Organic Japanese Cotton do not need to be ironed or steamed. The fabrics have a naturally crinkly look.

Linen Care

Our washable linen softens over time and is ideal for warm climates and relaxed dressing.

  • Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water
  • Use a mild, eco-friendly detergent
  • Air dry or tumble dry on low

Silk Care

Our silks are chosen for their subtle sheen and lightness. With the right care, they remain luminous and fluid.

  • Consider dry cleaning for best results

Note: You likely don’t need to wash silk as often as you think, its natural antibacterial and moisture-wicking properties allow for more wears between washes.

Cashmere Care

We are happy to announce our collaboration with Active Cashmere to bring you the highest quality of washable cashmere.

  • Hand wash in cold water with a cashmere shampoo or gentle wool detergent. We recommend Eucalan.
  • Press out excess water with a towel
  • Lay flat to dry on a clean towel
  • Store folded, not hanging

Eco-Friendly Care Tips

We are committed to extending the life of each garment, and believe every small act of care contributes to a lighter footprint. Here are some extra tips:

Wash less frequently: natural fibers like silk and linen stay fresher longer. Spot clean when possible to conserve water. Always air dry. It’s gentler on fabrics and the environment. Store garments mindfully away from direct sunlight and humidity.
